At Windsor Road Baptist Church we are a community - a believing community. We value people from different cultures and backgrounds, we seek to provide acceptance and a place to belong. People are looking for community. However community takes time - time spent with people. Getting to know one another, hearing each other’s life story and experiencing life together. Sunday morning doesn’t really provide enough time or space to effectively develop relationships and deep friendships. This happens in small groups. Being part of a small group is essential for a sense of belonging.
We have launched small groups for this term (see the list below). If you have some doubts or apprehension about being part of a group - let me say I understand this - it can be quite daunting. You may feel that you don’t need to be part of a group. Can I ask you to think about it from another perspective? Maybe others would like to get to know you! You are a vital part of the body of Christ and have gifts and ideas to share. The rest of us would be poorer and weaker without your contribution.
We are a community - it takes time, energy and commitment for community to be effective. When communities work well everyone benefits. We feel valued, accepted and we can make a meaningful contribution.
